ABOMS Certification Testing

Coordinated through Measurement Research Associates, Inc.

The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) is recognized by the American Dental Association as the dental specialty certifying board for oral and maxillofacial surgery. The ABOMS is responsible for qualifying applicants for board certification as well as developing and administering the examinations involved in the certification process.

ABOMS Qualifying Examination (QE):

  • Registration start date: 19 November, 2007
  • Examination delivery window: 15-26 January, 2008

ABOMS OMS Self Assessment Tool:

  • Registration start date: 11 February, 2008
  • Examination delivery window: 12-26 April, 2008

ABOMS Recertification Exam:

  • Registration start date: 28 July, 2008
  • Examination delivery window: 22 September-3 October, 2008

Scheduling

First-time test takers must create a Pearson VUE web account. Please note that account creation may require up to 24 hours. You will be notified by email when your account is activated. Appointments may be made up to one business day in advance.

After you schedule your test, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation letter listing your test date, your testing time, the address and phone number of the test center, and directions to the test center.
