Association of Government Accountants (AGA)
The Association of Government Accountants is a professional association that serves government accountability professionals by providing quality education, fostering professional development and certification, and working in the public interest for higher standards of government accountability and transparency.

Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) designation
AGA’s CGFM Program was designed specifically to help meet the critical need for greatly increased emphasis on the professional qualifications and stature of government financial managers. This professional designation recognizes the unique skills and special knowledge required of professionals who specialize in government financial management.
CGFM Program application
Prior to being able to register with Pearson VUE and schedule your testing appointment at a Pearson VUE test center, CGFM candidates must have already applied and been accepted into the CGFM Program by AGA. Accepted candidates receive an eligibility letter from AGA, containing their candidate ID number.

There are three CGFM Examinations administered at Pearson VUE test centers:

AGA’s website (CGFM Certification: Examinations Requirement) contains information on examinations content.
