Programs & Certification Information
Currently, CompTIA offers certifications in IT helpdesk/remote support, networking, servers, cloud computing, project management, technical training, Linux, security, storage, printer and document imaging, document management, and healthcare IT. See Certification.CompTIA.org for complete certification information.
CompTIA A+ 2009 objectives (220-701 & 220-702) will be retiring on August 31, 2013, and candidates currently studying these objectives should plan to complete their exams before this date.
The CompTIA A+ 2011 objectives (220-801 & 220-802) will be available starting October 9, 2012, and both sets of objectives will run concurrent until the retirement of the 2009 objectives on August 31, 2013.
Please note: Candidates CANNOT ‘MIX’ the 2009 and 2011 exam objectives. Passing one 2009 exam and one 2011 exam does not qualify for a CompTIA A+ Certification. BOTH exams must come from the same set of objectives. One CompTIA A+ certificate is earned upon successfully completing both exams.
The CompTIA CTP+ certification (CN0-201) will be retiring on December 31, 2012. CompTIA will not replace this exam. Anyone studying for the exam is encouraged to complete his/her studies and seek certification. Any exam vouchers previously purchased for exams not yet taken will be valid until December 31, 2012. CompTIA CTP+ certifications will not expire.
The CompTIA Healthcare IT Technician exam covers the knowledge and skills required to implement, deploy and support healthcare IT systems in various clinical settings. The Healthcare IT exam is available in the United States & U.S. Territories and Canada. U.S. Territories include American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Minor Outlying Islands and U.S. Virgin Islands.
Information technology has a significant presence in all areas of business today, and its prevalence is reflected in the span of CompTIA’s membership. CompTIA members receive a variety of benefits, like specialized initiatives and programs dedicated to major areas within the IT industry.
You do not need a voucher to schedule a CompTIA exam. Members and non-members can register on line using a credit card.
Please note: CompTIA requires the candidate to review the CompTIA Candidate Agreement (support.comptia.org) prior to beginning an exam. The candidate will be allowed fifteen minutes.
CompTIA exam vouchers are available for purchase through the CompTIA Marketplace or the Pearson VUE Voucher Store. If a certification requires more than one exam, multiple vouchers will need to be purchased.
