If you have never taken a Practice Test, or set up an account with CATGlobal, you will need to “Create a New Test Taker Account on CATGlobal.com” before scheduling your Practice Test.

If you have a test taker account but are having problems logging in, please check the following:

• Are you using AOL? If so you will need to access CATGlobal.com using Internet Explorer.
• Are you at a college, school, or work? If so you are probably going through a firewall and will not be able to login successfully from the location in which you are at. If you are at home you will need to disable the firewall before logging in.
• Are you using popup blockers? If so you will need to disable all popup blockers before logging in.

To Schedule a Practice Test, please “Log In to CATGlobal.com” and select the “Schedule a Test” option (located under “My Tasks” on the left of the page).

Then follow the steps to “Select a Test”. Select the appropriate Practice Test under the “Company/Assoc. Sponsor” dropdown:

Please Note: None of the Pearson VUE Practice Tests offered are state regulated. They will not pertain to the state in which you are trying to be licensed.

• Insurance Practice Tests
  Each of the General Insurance Practice Tests typically contains 50 questions on general insurance topics related to the national exam and 25 additional questions that are representative of the questions you may see on the state portion of the exam.
• NBE Arts and Sciences
  Each exam contains 100 questions.
• Pearson VUE General Mortgage Practice Test
  Each of the Pearson VUE General Mortgage Practice Tests typically contains a total of 40 questions (subject to change as the test is updated with new questions).
• Real Estate Practice Tests
  Each of the Real Estate Practice Tests typically contains a total of 80 questions (subject to change as the test is updated with new questions).

The Insurance Practice Tests cover the following lines:

The NBE Arts and Sciences Practice Test does not provide correct answers.

All other Practice Tests provide correct answers. After you select an answer to a question, click the “Feedback” button to check your results. If you selected the correct answer, the word “CORRECT” will be displayed. If you selected the wrong answer or did not select an answer, the word “INCORRECT” will be displayed and the correct answer will be revealed. In some tests, answers may include rationale as to why the answer is correct. (Since laws, rules, and regulations vary among states, no feedback is available for the state portions of the insurance practice tests.)

A score report will appear at the end of the test each time you take it. The number of correct answers for each test section is calculated in the score report. (Since laws, rules, and regulations vary among states, no score reports are available for the state portions of the insurance practice tests.)

The Insurance, Mortgage Broker, and Real Estate Practice Tests costs $19.95 per one time test. Certification Practice Tests vary by sponsor. Please see: www.pearsonvue.com/practicetests/certification for more details.

No, there is only one version of each test available.

Once the Practice Test has been started, you have only 7 days to complete the test. After the 7^th day, the test will expire and you will need to purchase another test.

• AOL/third party browser tips
  • If you are using AOL or another 3rd party browser—other than Internet Explorer (IE) or Netscape (7.1 or higher versions) occasionally internet communication problems arise. The best solution in this case, is to minimize the 3rd party browser and open a new browser window using Internet Explorer (IE — the big blue E) or Netscape in order to facilitate online testing.
  • Some schools or businesses may have firewalls installed that interfere with the ability to connect with the computer system. In this case, you may have to register from another computer that does not have a firewall.

Please NOTE: If you attempt to register in the middle of the night, the server may be updating itself and therefore may be unavailable.

The exam opens in a separate “pop-up” window. Do you have a pop-up blocker? If there is any software or program on your computer that blocks “pop-up” windows, you will need to disable it. Some Anti-Virus and Firewall programs also block pop-ups.

Close the Practice Test browser window, then close your browser completely. Start the browser again and go to CATGlobal.com. Log-in to the site and click “View Schedule” under “My Tasks,” then click “Resume” to continue the test.

You may recover a lost password by clicking on “Lost Password?” located at CATGlobal.com on the right side of the page under “User Info.”

You have 7 days to take the Practice Test after you pay for it. After 7 days, the test will expire.

It sometimes takes a few seconds to load a question. If it takes too long, press F5 to refresh the screen.

After 20 minutes without activity, the web server will drop a user’s session. Just close the test window — DO NOT “QUIT” — and then close the browser. Go back to where you logged in and click on “View Schedule” and then “Resume.” This should bring you back to the location of the question when you timed out.

Make sure your monitor resolution is set to 800x600. To check your monitor resolution, open your control panel and choose “Display.” On the Settings tab, under Screen area, drag the slider to the correct resolution and click “Apply.” If you’re using a Mac, click the apple icon in the upper left-hand corner of your screen and then choose “Control Panels.” From there, choose “Monitor;”. Choose the screen resolution from the display options in the window.

Log In to CATGlobal.com and click “View Schedule.” Select “Resume.” Your test should open at the same question where you left off when you ended the test. Once you click “Quit” you will not be able to restart the test.
