IAB Digital Media Sales Certification Examination
Coordinated through Professional Testing (PTI)
The digital advertising field develops at breakneck speed. Because of its rapid evolution, a constant challenge exists for sales professionals to keep abreast of emerging innovations, best practices and existing guidelines. In addition, training standards don’t yet exist—the digital world doesn’t have a Bar exam or a Series 7. As a result, sales professionals in the industry often have varying levels of knowledge and skills. Having already set many of the standards for the digital world, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has added a new standard for digital salespeople through its new IAB Digital Media Sales Certification.
Before scheduling an exam, you must receive an authorization-to-test email from the Interactive Advertising Bureau. For more information, visit the IAB Certification website or follow the “Related Links” on this page. You may also contact Lauren Freeman at lauren.freeman@iab.net or 212-609-3732.
Scheduling for a computer-based exam
Your authorization-to-test email will tell you the first and last dates you may take the exam. It is up to you to make an appointment to take the exam in that timeframe. Exam appointments may be made up to one business day in advance. Locations are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
After you schedule your exam, Pearson VUE will send you a confirmation email listing your exam date, your exam time, the address and phone number of the test center, and directions to the test center.
If you choose to schedule online, you will have to create a Pearson VUE web account. Please note that account activation may require up to 24 hours. You will be notified by email when your Pearson VUE account is activated. When creating your account and scheduling your exam, you will need your IAB candidate ID number from the authorization-to-test email sent to you upon completion of the application process.
Before the exam date, you may want to visit the Pearson VUE Testing Tutorial to become familiar with the computer-based testing system.
