UExcel® Examinations
Note: The UExcel® beta period has ended. Exams will not be available until the full launch of the program, which is currently planned for later in 2009.
UExcel® is a new credit-by-examination program that allows students to earn college credit for learning acquired elsewhere. An alliance between Pearson VUE and Excelsior College, UExcel currently offers the following computer-based beta examinations at more than 400 Pearson VUE test centers globally:
- Calculus
- Physics
- Political Science
- Psychology
By successfully completing one or more exams, students can earn credit for their knowledge without the time and expense of taking a traditional course. Moreover, the UExcel exams can be used to determine advanced placement and college readiness.
UExcel examinations are ideal for independent learners, international students who would like to attend a university in the United States, or anyone else who would like to accelerate the completion of their degree by earning credit for what they already know. UExcel exams are priced at a fraction of the cost of an equivalent course, so they allow students to reduce the overall cost of tuition.
