UExcel® Examinations
UExcel® is a new credit-by-examination program that allows students to earn college credit for learning acquired elsewhere. An alliance between Pearson VUE and Excelsior College, UExcel offers the following computer-based examinations at hundreds of Pearson VUE test centers globally:
- Calculus
- College Writing
- Introduction to Psychology
- Introduction to Sociology
- Physics
- Political Science
- Spanish Language
- Statistics
By successfully completing one or more exams, students can earn credit for their knowledge without the time and expense of taking a traditional course. Moreover, the UExcel exams can be used to determine advanced placement and college readiness.
UExcel examinations are ideal for independent learners, international students who would like to attend a university in the United States, or anyone else who would like to accelerate the completion of their degree by earning credit for what they already know. UExcel exams are priced at a fraction of the cost of an equivalent course, so they allow students to reduce the overall cost of tuition. Additionally, the UExcel program offers Practice Exams that are authorized by the developers of the credit-bearing exams, and a number of other resources for students to prepare for their exam.
