University of Maryland University College Computer-Based Testing (UMUC CBT)
The University of Maryland University College (UMUC) contracted with Pearson VUE for the administration of Computer-Based Testing (CBT) format for UMUC’s final examination periods.
Important Things to Consider
- Exam Fee: Pearson VUE charges a fee of $70 per exam that must be paid at the time of scheduling. This fee is refundable up to one business day before the scheduled exam time.
- Late Arrival Policy: You will not be allowed to take your exam if you arrive more than 30 minutes after your scheduled start time. This will result in you forfeiting your exam fee.
- Prior to scheduling with Pearson VUE: you must go to MyUMUC and visit the “Undergrad Online Exam Reg” link and then proceed to the Alternate Site Registration page. You will then be able to Select Pearson VUE as the Alternative Site.
- Registration: The Pearson VUE registration period will begin approximately 7–10 days after the beginning of the UMUC registration period. Please see the schedule for registration dates. You will need your email confirmation number that you receive when you register the exam for an Alternative Site, to complete your registration with Pearson VUE.

Scheduling
You may schedule the dates for the exam online 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. First-time test takers must create a Pearson VUE web account. Please note that account setup may require up to 24 hours. You will be notified by email when your account is activated. When creating your account and scheduling your exam, please be sure to have your UMUC EMPLID ready.
You may also schedule the dates for your exam by contacting our call center Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. central time. Please be sure to have your UMUC EMPLID ready.
After you schedule your test, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation email listing your test date, testing time, the address and phone number of the test center, as well as directions to the test center.
