Client waiver process FAQs
Click on the question below to read the answer.
How soon will I hear if my Client Waiver request was approved or denied?
Pearson VUE will send an email confirming or denying your Client Waiver request within two (2) business days from the time Pearson VUE receives the required Client Waiver Request Form and any required supporting documentation.
When does Pearson VUE process Client Waivers?
Pearson VUE processes Client Waiver requests Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm Central Time. Client Waiver requests are not processed during evenings, weekends or on Pearson VUE U.S. holidays.
What if it has been more than two business days and I have not received notification that my request was approved or denied?
First, check your junk email folder to see if the notification email is in there. You may have to add the domain “@pearson.com” to your approved senders list. If the email is not there, please contact customer service. (Click on your specific state program to locate the appropriate phone number.)
How do I know what supporting documentation is required?
Please see the CLIENT WAIVER form for ‘WHAT TO SUBMIT’ and also in your candidate handbook for details.
Will supporting documentation be returned?
No, Pearson VUE will not return supporting documentation to you.
If the state does not require supporting documents, what do I do?
May I schedule my exam prior to submitting the Client Waiver request?
If you schedule your test without following the Client Waiver request process, your Client Waiver will not be applied and it cannot be applied at the test center. You must provide the necessary documentation so that Pearson VUE can apply your Client Waiver to your profile BEFORE scheduling your appointment.
If I have a question about the Client Waiver process, whom do I contact?
If I arrive at the test center and request a Client Waiver, what will occur?
The Test Center Administrator does not have the ability to apply Client Waivers. Therefore, you have two options:
- Take the exam without the Client Waiver — this means you will be tested on sections that could have been waived
- Cancel the exam, and then follow the Client Waiver request process BEFORE rescheduling your exam. You must receive notification that the Client Waiver has been applied BEFORE you reschedule the exam. All cancellation and rescheduling fees and policies will apply.
